Troubleshooting Problem Cause/Solution A Skin tones are not softened. • Under some shooting conditions, facial skin 50 tones may not be softened. • Use Skin softening in the playback menu for 77 pictures containing more than three faces. No sound when shutter is released. • Off is selected for Sound settings>Shutter sound in setup menu. • Continuous, Multi-shot 16 or BSS is selected for the Continuous setting in shooting menu. • d (Sports scene mode) or l (Museum scene mode) is selected. • D mode is selected. • The speaker is blocked. Noise can be reduced by: • Using flash. • Specifying a lower ISO sensitivity setting. • Using a scene mode which has noise reduction ability. • Flash is off. • Flash window is blocked. • Subject is beyond flash range. • Adjust exposure compensation. • Increase ISO sensitivity. • Subject is backlit. Select o (Backlight) scene mode or use fill flash. Adjust exposure compensation. When taking pictures with V (auto with red-eye reduction) or fill flash with slow sync and red-eye reduction in Night portrait scene mode, InCamera Red Eye Fix may be applied to areas not affected by red-eye.
