HOW TO USE A CUSTOM WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 16. 2. Select a custom workout. To select a custom workout, press the Custom button repeatedly. When a custom workout is selected, a profile of the speed settings of the workout will scroll across the matrix. In addition, the duration of the workout, the maximum incline setting, the workout number, and the maximum speed setting of the workout will appear. Note: If only three columns of indicators scroll across the matrix, see HOW TO CREATE A CUSTOM WORKOUT on page 20. If desired, you can redesign the workout while using it. To change the speed setting or the incline setting for the current segment, simply press the speed or incline buttons. When the current segment ends, the new setting will be saved in memory. To increase the length of the workout, first wait until the workout is completed. Then, press the Start button and program speed and incline settings for as many additional segments as desired. When you have added as many segments as desired, press the Stop button twice. To decrease the length of the workout, press the Stop button twice at any time before the workout is completed. To stop the workout temporarily, press the Stop button. To restart the workout, press the Start button. The walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph. When the next segment of the workout begins, the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings programmed for the next segment. 4. Follow your progress with the displays. 3. A moment after you press the button, the treadmill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings that you programmed previously. Hold the handrails and begin walking. 5. Measure your heart rate if desired. See step 6 on page 17. 6. Turn on the fan if desired. Each custom workout is divided into several oneminute segments. One speed setting and one incline setting are programmed for each segment. Note: The same speed and/or incline setting may be programmed for consecutive segments. The custom workout will function in the same way as a preset workout (see step 4 on page 19). See step 7 on page 17. 7. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. HOW TO USE A CUSTOM WORKOUT
1.
Insert the key into the console.
See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 16.

Select a custom workout.
To select a custom
workout, press the
Custom button repeat-
edly. When a custom
workout is selected, a
profile of the speed set-
tings of the workout will scroll across the matrix. In
addition, the duration of the workout, the maximum
incline setting, the workout number, and the maxi-
mum speed setting of the workout will appear.
Note: If only three columns of indicators scroll

CUSTOM WORKOUT on page 20.

Start the walking belt.
Press the Start button to start the workout. A mo-
ment after you press the button, the treadmill will
automatically adjust to the first speed and incline
settings that you programmed previously. Hold the
handrails and begin walking.
Each custom workout is divided into several one-
minute segments. One speed setting and one in-
cline setting are programmed for each segment.
Note: The same speed and/or incline setting may
be programmed for consecutive segments.
The custom workout will function in the same way
as a preset workout (see step 4 on page 19).
If desired, you can redesign the workout while
using it.
To change the speed setting or the in-
cline setting for the current segment,
simply
press the speed or incline buttons. When the cur-
rent segment ends, the new setting will be saved in
memory.
To increase the length of the workout,
first wait until the workout is completed. Then, press
the Start button and program speed and incline set-
tings for as many additional segments as desired.
When you have added as many segments as de-
sired, press the Stop button twice.
To decrease
the length of the workout,
press the Stop button
twice at any time before the workout is completed.
To stop the workout temporarily, press the Stop
button. To restart the workout, press the Start but-
ton. The walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph.
When the next segment of the workout begins, the
treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and
incline settings programmed for the next segment.

Follow your progress with the displays.
See step 5 on page 17.

Measure your heart rate if desired.

Turn on the fan if desired.
See step 7 on page 17.

When you are finished exercising, remove the
key from the console.
