Holding the camera Sometimes when you look at a picture you have taken, the contours of the subject are blurred. This is often caused by movement of the camera at the precise moment that the shutter button is pressed. 2 Picture where subject is not clearly defined To prevent the camera from moving, hold the camera firmly with both hands while keeping your elbows at your sides. When taking pictures with the camera in the vertical position, hold the camera so that the flash is positioned higher than the lens. Keep your fingers and the strap away from the lens and flash.
