Troubleshooting Symptom Recording level too low Voice files are not recorded in stereo Probable cause Action The microphone sensitivity is too low. This could potentially be because the output level for the connected external devices are too low. The connected external microphone is monaural. Set [Mic Sense] to [High] or [Middle] (☞ P.47, P.49). Adjust the output level for the connected devices. When recording while an external monaural microphone is connected, sound will only be recorded by the L-channel. [Rec Mode] is set to a monaural recording mode. Set [Rec Mode] to the stereo recording mode (☞ P.47, P.49). [Zoom Mic] is set to the + side. Set [Zoom Mic] to [Off] (☞ P.47, P.50). Cannot find the recorded Voice File Noise heard during playback Wrong folder. The recorder was shaken during recording. The recorder was placed near a cell phone or fluorescent lamp while recording or during playback. Switch to the correct folder (☞ P.22 to P.24). --- Move the recorder. The file is locked. Unable to erase the 7 file The file is read-only. Unable to erase the folders There is a file which cannot be recognized by the recorder in the folder. Noise is audible through the recording Acoustic feedback is occurring. monitor Unable to set index marks, tempmarks EN 84 The maximum number of marks has been reached. The file is locked. The file is read-only. Unlock the file (☞ P.47, P.49). Unlock the file or cancel the read-only setting of the file on the PC. Connect the recorder to your PC and erase a folder (☞ P.67, P.69). When the built-in speaker amps and the like are connected there is a risk that audio feedback will occur while recording. It is recommended that you use earphones for the recording monitor. Conduct adjustments like separating the earphones from the microphone further, do not point the microphone at the earphones, lower the volume on the recording monitor, and so on. Erase unnecessary marks (☞ P.35). Unlock the file (☞ P.47, P.49). Unlock the file or cancel the read-only setting of the file on the PC. Troubleshooting
