Making system connections ::y 0 0 VIDEO OUT IN AUDIO OUT IN Connecting a Video Cassette Recorder (VIDEO-2 and/or VIDEO-3) Connect the VIDEO output of the VCR to the rear panel VIDEO-2 and/or VIDEO-3 V "IN" jack and the VIDEO input of the VCR to the rear panel VIDEO-2 and/or VIDEO-3 V "OUT" jack. Then connect the audio output of the VCR to the VIDEO-2 and/or VIDEO-3 L and R "IN" jacks. Finally, connect the AUDIO input of the VCR to the VIDEO-2 and/or VIDEO-3 L and R "OUT" jacks. • When using a playback-only VCR, you only need to make the output connections. For more details, refer to the VCR instruction manual. Connect the TV VIDEO input to this unit MONITOR OUT jack. There is no need to perform an audio connection since sound will be sent directly from this unit to the speaker systems. 2. This unit does not have an RF converter. Therefore, it can be used with only a monitor TV equipped with a video input jack. 3. Interference may be caused between the TV and this unit. If this interference occurs, place this unit and the TV as far apart as possible. We do not recommend the use of a common TV/FM antenna (see antenna section). 1PM (Intelligent Power Management System) If the TV connected to VIDEO- I is turned on, this unit is automatically turned on and the input selector is set to VIDEO-I. The 1PM system then automatically switches the unit off when the TV is switched off (provided that the input selector remains set to VIDEO- 1). A. Connection where IPM will operate Set the IPM switch to ON. VIDEO-1 TV is displayed on the multi function display. B. Connection where IPM will not operate Set the IPM switch to OFF. VIDEO-1 VDP is displayed on the multi fanction display. NOTES: • This unit will automatically switch on approximately three to five seconds after the TV comes on. • The IPM function is not operating when the TV screen remains blank, even if the TV is switched on. 8
