Answering System 3 To stop recording, release {GREETING}. L The greeting message is played back automatically. Note: L If your greeting message is under 3 seconds in length, the prerecorded greeting message is used. Press {5}. L The unit plays new messages. L When you have no new messages, the unit plays back all messages. Note: L Pressing {ANSWER} on the handset switches answering system operations from the base unit to the handset. Playing back the greeting message Quickly press {GREETING} once. Erasing your greeting message Press {GREETING}, and then press {ERASE} while your greeting message is playing. Adjusting the speaker volume (8 levels) Press {} repeatedly while listening to a message. (The default setting is " ".) Note: L You cannot turn the speaker volume off. Prerecorded greeting message The unit plays a prerecorded greeting message for callers and asks them to leave messages if: - you do not record your own greeting message - you erase your own greeting message - your greeting message is under 3 seconds in length Base unit To play back the prerecorded greeting message, quickly press {GREETING} once. Make sure you erase your own greeting message.
