Taking Pictures 3 Use the four-way controller (45) to select i or h and press the 4 button. The self-timer lamp begins to blink slowly and the camera is ready to take a picture with the remote control. When the camera detects a person's face, the Face Detection function is activated and the face detection frame appears (p.69). 4 Point the remote control at the remote control receiver and press the shutter release button on the remote control. 3 The focus frame turns green when the subject is in focus and the camera takes a picture. • The operating range is approx. 4 m (13 ft.) from the front of the camera when using the remote control unit. • The camera takes a picture even if the subject is out of focus. • Press the shutter release button on the camera halfway while the self- timer is running to stop the countdown and press the shutter release button on the remote control again to restart the countdown. • You cannot take a picture using the remote control unit in 9 (Green) mode. • The self-timer lamp does not blink in Y (Pet) mode. • When using the REMOTE CONTROL WATERPROOF O-RC1, you can record a movie by pressing the { button on the remote control or the C button on the camera. • You can also zoom in and out using the Zoom button on the remote control. 87
