Sewing problems and their solutions These machines have been developed for ease of operation and no difficult adjustments must be made. Sewing problems of the kind described below may occur due to minor adjustment and operating errors. They can be easily corrected by following the instruc tions. Problem Needle breakage Thread breakage Skipped stitches Cause Needle bent or point damaged Needle not fully inserted Material was pulled too firmly Incorrectly threaded Thread has caught Thread tension too tight Needle not fully inserted Incorrect needle used Needle bent or point damaged Needle not fully inserted Incorrect needle used Incorrectly threaded Incorrect stitch formation Incorrect setting of thread tensions The 3- or 4-thread overedge seam has an irregular appe arance and the right I000per thread has not interlocked in the seam. The converter is attached Solution Insert new needle (see page 11). Insert needle correctly (see page 11). Do not pull material during sewing Thread correctly (see pages 12 - 18).
