BASIC OPERATION Preparations • Turn on the power (TV, Audio System, AV amplifier, etc.). • Select the video input sources from your television. (Please refer to your TV instruction manual.) TV VIDEO Basic Playback Notes: • Do not touch the disc tray while it is moving. • Never place anything except a disc on the disc tray. Foreign objects can damage the unit. • Do not apply excessive force to the disc tray. • Discs must be placed on the disc tray one at a time. When operation buttons are pressed, that operarion is displayed on the TV screen. The display turns off after several seconds. 3 2,4 51 • Select the playback picture size according to the aspect ratio of the TV. (For more details, see "Setting Display" on page E30.) 4:3 LB (Letterbox): 4:3 PS (Panscan): 16:9 : • Select the audio input source (Audio System, AV amplifier, etc.). • When the DVD video player is connected to the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks of the TV (see pages E8, E10 and E11), you must select the INTERLACE or PROGRESSIVE position. Note: Initial setting is "INTERLACE". If you use a Conventional TV for first time, skip this section. 1. Turn on the power (TV and DVD video player). 2. Preparations
Turn on the power (TV, Audio System, AV amplifier, etc.).
Select the video input sources from your television.
(Please refer to your TV instruction manual.)
Select the playback picture size according to the aspect ratio
of the TV. (For more details, see “Setting Display” on page
E30.)
