MD-MS722/C/W/MS721W REMOVING AND REINSTALLING THE MAIN PARTS Remove the mechanism according to the disassembling methods 1 to 3. (See Page 11.) (A2)x3 ø1.4x2.8mm How to remove the spindle motor (See Fig. 12-1.) 1. Remove the solder joint (A1) x 1 of flexible PWB. 2. Remove the screws (A2) x 3 pcs., and remove the spindle motor. Spindle Motor Mechanism Flexible PWB Solder joint (A1)x1 How to remove the lift motor (See Fig. 12-2.) 1. Remove the solder joint (B1) x 2 of slide motor lead wire. 2. Remove the screw (B2) x 1 pc., and remove the flexible PWB. 3. Remove the screw (B3) x 1 pc., and remove the lift motor. Note: Take care so that the motor gear is not damaged. (If the gear is damaged, noise is caused.) How to remove the sled motor (See Fig. 12-3.) 1. Remove the stop washer (C1) x 1 pc., and remove the drive gear (C2) x 1 pc. 2. Remove the solder joint (C3) x 1 of flexible PWB. 3. Remove the screws (C4) x 2 pc., and remove the sled motor. Note: Take care so that the motor gear is not damaged. Remove the screw (D1) x1 which connects the magnetic head to the head relay flexible PWB, and remove the soldering joint (D2) x2. Note: Mount carefully so as not to damage the magnetic head. (If the gear is damaged, noise is caused.) How to reinstall the optical pickup unit (See Fig. 12-5.) 1. Remove the screw (E1) x 1 pc. 2. Slowly raise the optical pickup.
