About This Manual • Instructions in this manual describe the controls on the remote. • "DVD" may be used as a general term for commercial DVDs, DVD+RWs/DVD+Rs/DVD+Rs DL (+VR mode) and DVD-RWs/DVD-Rs/DVD-Rs DL (VR mode, video mode). • The meaning of the icons used in this manual is described below: Icons Meaning Functions available for commercial DVDs and DVD+RWs/DVD+Rs/DVD+Rs DL in +VR mode or DVD-RWs/DVD-Rs/DVD-Rs DL in video mode Functions available for DVD-RWs/DVD-Rs/DVD-Rs DL in VR (Video Recording) mode Functions available for music CDs or CD-Rs/CD-RWs in music CD format Functions available for DATA CDs (CD-ROMs/CD-Rs/CD-RWs containing MP3* audio tracks, and JPEG image files) Functions available for DATA DVDs (DVD-ROMs/DVD+RWs/DVD+Rs/DVD+Rs DL/DVD-RWs/DVD-Rs/DVD-Rs DL containing MP3* audio tracks, and JPEG image files) *MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer III) is a standard format defined by ISO (International Organization for Standardization)/ IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) MPEG which compresses audio data. 8

Attaching the DVD Player to Your TV	13
1 Insert the guide pins on the bracket into the guide holes on the TV. The holes on the bracket should align to the holes on the TV.	13
2 Insert the two plastic fasteners (supplied) into the holes, then press in the head of the fasteners until they click.	13
3 Slide the DVD player onto the bracket with the DVD slot facing the outer edge of the TV.	13
1 With the bracket fully extended, insert the guide pins on the bracket into the guide holes on the TV. The holes on the bracket should align to the holes on the TV.	15
2 Insert the 2 plastic fasteners (supplied) into the holes, then press in the head of the fasteners until they click.	15
3 Slide the bracket so that the viewing window covers the corresponding number (see the illustrations and table on the previous page). If the viewing window indicates Bracket Setting 2, be sure to use a Velcro strip (supplied); see previous page.	15
4 Align the slider on the bottom of the receiver unit with the groove of the installation bracket.	15
5 Slide down the DVD player onto the bracket with the DVD slot facing the outer edge of the TV. Before proceeding to the next step, make sure that you are satisfied with the position of the DVD player in relation to the TV.	15
6 Secure the location of the sliding bracket by screwing the Thumb Screw into the screw point located just beneath the viewing window. If Bracket Setting 2 is used, peel off the arrow label by pulling downwards, and firmly press the bracket onto the TV.	15

Connecting Your DVD Player	16
1 Connect the L-shaped end of the HDMI cable (supplied) to the HDMI OUT on the DVD player, then connect the straight end of the HDMI cable to any HDMI IN on the TV 1.	16
2 Connect the supplied AC adapter with AC power cord between the DC IN 12V and the nearest wall outlet 3.	16
3 For models with XMB™ menu only: Connect the supplied USB cable between the DVD player’s DMex port and the DMex/SERVICE port on the TV 2.	16

1 Press to access the DVD Menu or to access the Top Menu. The disc’s menu appears on the TV screen. The contents of the menu vary from disc to disc.	23

7 Press to start Program Play. Program Play begins. When the program ends, you can restart the same program again by pressing .	25

2 Select the program number of the title, chapter, or track you want to change or cancel using B/b and press .	26
