On CD-R/RW discs On handling discs To prevent losing data, note the following. • Do not stick on paper or labels, or scratch the surface of the disc. • Do not touch the recording surface of the disc (the surface on which nothing is printed). • Do not place a disc in a location subject to excessive dust, direct sunlight, heat sources or high humidity. • Keep a disc from any liquid falling on it. • When it is not in use, store it in a case. Notes on cleaning CD-R/RW discs • Fingerprints and dust on the surface of a disc may cause read errors. • For normal cleaning, hold the disc by its edge and use a soft cloth to wipe the surface from the center out. • If the disc is badly soiled, moisten a soft cloth with water, wring it out well, and use it to wipe the surface of the disc from the center out. Wipe off any remaining moisture with a dry soft cloth. • Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners or anti-static spray, because they may cause damage to the disc. 48 GB
