Inserting a memory card Open the cover, and insert the memory card until it clicks.  To eject the memory card, lightly push the memory card in once. Access lamp Insert the card with the notched corner in the direction as illustrated. Notes  To ensure stable operation of the memory card, it is recommended to format the memory card with your camcorder before the first use (p. 38).
