Removing, Installing, and Replacing Components 29 5 Remove the add-in card from the PCI slot and store the card in an anti-static wrapper for future use. ✍ Grasp the card with one hand on each end, and gently pull up as you rock the card from side to side. ! Hold the add-in card by its edges and do not touch any components or contacts on the card. Static electricity in your body may damage sensitive components on the card. As a precaution, touch any exposed metal part on the metal chassis (preferably the metal part on the power supply) before handling an add-in card to discharge any static electricity in your body. 6 If you do not replace the card or install another add-in card, install a slot cover over the vacant slot at the rear of the chassis (see "Covering an Open I/O Slot" on page 42). 7 Replace the side cover (see "Replacing the Side Panel" on page 27).

Remove the add-in card from the PCI slot and store the card in an
anti-static wrapper for future use.

If you do not replace the card or install another add-in card, install a
slot cover over the vacant slot at the rear of the chassis (see
“Covering
an Open I/O Slot”
on page 42).
