Changing the Engine Oil Service Interval: After the first 5 hours Yearly Run the engine a few minutes before changing the oil to warm it. Warm oil flows better and carries more contaminants. 1. Dispose of the used oil properly at a local recycling center. Adjusting the Self-propel Drive Cable Whenever you install a new self-propel cable or if the self-propel drive is out of adjustment, adjust the self-propel drive cable. 1. Changing the Engine Oil

Adjusting the Self-propel Drive
Cable
Whenever you install a new self-propel cable or if
the self-propel drive is out of adjustment, adjust the
self-propel drive cable.

Loosen the cable support nut (Figure 28).

Pull down the cable jacket (toward the mower) until
there is no slack in the cable (Figure 29).
