Connecting your TV To Antenna Connecting a DVD player with DVD Player with ColorStreamTM (component video) ColorStream® (component video) and a VCR This connection allows you to watch DVD, VCR, or VIDEO OUT AUDIO OUT L L R R ColorStreamTM (Component Video) Y Pb Pr S VIDEO TV programs. You can record one TV program while watching another TV program. You can also record a TV TV program while watching a DVD. ANT (75Ω) Your TV has ColorStream® (component video) connec- tions. Connecting your TV to a component video compatible DVD player (such as a Toshiba DVD player with ColorStream®) can greatly enhance picture quality and performance. OUT VIDEO L/MONO ANT-1 DVD IN COLOR STREAM INPUT Y L Pb IN S-VIDEO VIDEO L/MONO You will need: • one coaxial cable • three pairs of audio cables (one pair and two single AUDIO R AUDIO Pr R AUDIO R VIDEO 2 VIDEO 1 audio cables for a mono VCR) • two regular video cables • one set of ColorStream (component) video cables Note: Stereo VCR VIDEO AUDIO L R IN IN from ANT OUT to TV For the best picture performance, use ColorStream® (component video) cables between the TV and DVD player OUT CH 3 CH 4 (see "Note Regarding Picture Quality" on page 7). Connecting two VCRs This connection allows you to record from one VCR to another VCR while watching a video program. You can also record from one TV channel while watching another channel. If you have an S-VHS VCR, use an S-video cable instead of a regular video cable. Do not connect a regular video cable and an S-video cable to Video-1 (or Video-2) at the same time. Doing so will cause unacceptable picture performance. Do not connect the same VCR to the output and input jacks on the TV at the same time. When recording, set Audio Out to FIXED (see "Selecting variable audio OUT" on page 33). With Audio Out set to FIXED, the TV's volume setting will not affect the sound level being recorded.
