LED pattern Possible Problems and Solutions • You pressed the button while the printer was receiving data. • In Manual Feed mode, there is no paper in the Tray 1. Load paper into the Tray 1. • If the printer is receiving data, the LED slowly blinks green. • If the printer is printing the received data, the LED blinks green fast. • If the installed toner cartridge is empty, the LED blinks orange. Replace the toner cartridge. To replace the toner cartridge, see "Installing the Toner Cartridge" on page 2.4. • If you have installed a toner cartridge that is not designed for the printer, the LED blinks orange and red in turn. Install a correct toner cartridge. Common Windows Problems 6 Problem "File in Use" message appears during installation. "Error Writing to LPTx" message appears. "General Protection Fault", "Exception OE", "Spool32", or "Illegal Operation" messages appear. Possible Cause and Solution Exit all software applications. Remove all software from the StartUp Group, then restart Windows. Reinstall the printer driver. • Ensure that the cables are connected correctly, and the printer is on. • If bi-directional communication is not turned on in the driver, it will also cause this message. Close all other applications, reboot Windows, and try printing again.
