Connecting the Printer to the Network The Phaser 3400 personal laser printer is designed to be connected to the network with 10BaseT or 100BaseT Category 5 (Cat-5) cables. For more information, please consult your local retailer. The following illustration shows a typical installation. English 1710-99 1. If the printer is on, turn it off. 2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the printer. 3. Connect the other end of the cable to the hub. (Do not connect the cable to a port on the hub labeled Uplink.) 4. Turn on the printer. 5. Refer to the software setup instructions for your environment. The Ethernet hub shows the status of devices through indicator lights. There are also two green indicator lights on the back of the Phaser 3400 printer, next to the network cable. The top indicator light should always be on when the printer is on; it indicates a live connection to the network. Connecting the Printer to the Network
The Phaser 3400 personal laser printer is designed to be connected to
the network with 10BaseT or 100BaseT Category 5 (Cat-5) cables. For
more information, please consult your local retailer.
The following illustration shows a typical installation.
1.
If the printer is on, turn it off.
2.
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the
printer.
3.
Connect the other end of the cable to the hub. (Do not connect the
cable to a port on the hub labeled
Uplink.

4.
Turn on the printer.
5.
