ENGLISH About MIDI MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a standard format for data transmission/reception. It enables the transfer of performance data and commands between MIDI devices and personal computers. Using MIDI, you can control a connected MIDI device from the P-90, or control the P-90 from a connected MIDI device or computer. MIDI connectors IN MIDI OUT HOST SELECT MIDI Mac PC-2 PC-1 MIDI performance data and commands are transferred in the form of numeric values. Since MIDI data that can be transmitted or received varies depending on the type of MIDI device, check the "MIDI Implementation Chart" to find out what MIDI data and commands your devices can transmit or receive. The P-90's MIDI Implementation Chart appears on page 60. MIDI [IN]: Receives MIDI data. MIDI [OUT]: Transmits MIDI data. MIDI cables Prepare dedicated MIDI cables. [TO HOST] connector Use this connector to connect the P-90 to a computer. HOST SELECT TO HOST MIDI Mac PC-2 PC-1 When you are using the MIDI connectors, set the [HOST SELECT] switch to "MIDI" (page 47). When you are using the [TO HOST] connector, set the [HOST SELECT] switch, according to the type of computer you are using (page 47).
