VPN passthrough Port Forwarding If you have a server (mail or web server for example) on your network, you can use this feature to let people access it from the Internet. IPSec VPN Capability Establish a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to connect with business partners and branch offices using data encryption and the Internet to provide secure communications without the expense of leased site-to-site lines. The ZyXEL Device VPN is based on the IPSec standard and is fully interoperable with other IPSec-based VPN products. The ZyXEL Device supports 20 IPSec tunnels. Content Filter The ZyXEL Device blocks or allows access to web sites that you specify and blocks access to web sites with URLs that contain keywords that you specify. You can define time periods and days during which content filtering is enabled. You can also include or exclude particular computers on your network from content filtering. You can also subscribe to category-based content filtering that allows your ZyXEL Device to check web sites against an external database. CAC Content Access Controls allow you to control Internet access on a per user basis. Static Routes Static routes tell the ZyXEL Device how to forward IP traffic when you configure the TCP/IP parameters manually. 16 IP and 4 Bridge Traffic Redirect Traffic redirect forwards WAN traffic to a backup gateway when the ZyXEL Device cannot connect to the Internet, thus acting as an auxiliary if your regular WAN connection fails. LAN/DMZ Interface The ZyXEL Device provides a LAN port that can function as a virtual DeMilitarized Zone (DMZ) port. Public servers (Web, FTP, etc.) attached to the DMZ port are visible to the outside world (while still being protected from DoS (Denial of Service) attacks such as SYN flooding and Ping of Death) and can also be accessed from the secure LAN. Zero Configuration Internet Access Once you connect and turn on the ZyXEL Device, it automatically detects the Internet connection settings (such as the VCI/VPI numbers and the encapsulation method) from the ISP and makes the necessary configuration changes. In cases where additional account information (such as an Internet account user name and password) is required or the ZyXEL Device cannot connect to the ISP, you will be redirected to web screen(s) for information input or troubleshooting. Network Address

Translation (NAT)

Each computer on your network must have its own unique IP address. Use
