Chapter 4 Bandwidth Management Wizard Table 18 Media Bandwidth Management Setup: Services (continued) SERVICE DESCRIPTION VoIP (SIP) Sending voice signals over the Internet is called Voice over IP or VoIP. Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) is an internationally recognized standard for implementing VoIP. SIP is an application-layer control (signaling) protocol that handles the setting up, altering and tearing down of voice and multimedia sessions over the Internet. SIP is transported primarily over UDP but can also be transported over TCP, using the default port number 5060. VoIP (H.323) H.323 is an umbrella recommendation from the ITU-T, that defines the protocols to provide audio-visual communication sessions on any packet network. TFTP Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) is a very simple file transfer protocol, with the functionality of a very basic form of FTP. It is used to transfer small files between hosts on a network, such as when a remote X Window System terminal or any other thin client boots from a network host or server. TFTP is transported primarily over UDP. 4.3 Bandwidth Management Wizard Setup 1 After you enter the password to access the web configurator, select Go to Wizard setup and click Apply. Otherwise, click the wizard icon ( ) in the top right corner of the web configurator to display the wizard main screen.
