How the Air Bag System Works If something is between the driver and the air bag, the bag might not inflate properly or it might force the object into that person. The path of an inflating air bag must kept clear. Don't be air put anything between an occupant and the bag, and don't attach or put anything on or nea the steeringwheel hub. Where is the air bag?
