Tailgate and Glass Hatch The rear wiper will not operate with the glass hatch open. If you open the glass hatch while the rear wiper is operating, the wiper will return to its parked position (see page 123 ). The wiper will resume operation after the glass hatch is closed. Keep the tailgate and the glass hatch closed at all times while driving to avoid damaging the tailgate and the glass hatch, and to prevent exhaust gas from getting into the interior. See Carbon Monoxide Hazard on page 59 .
