Maintenance Engine Cooling System Coolant Level The recovery bottle is located on the right side of the vehicle under the front fender. If the fluid level is visible at the bottom of the side panel, add 6 oz. (175 ml) of coolant. As coolant operating temperature increases, the expanding (heated) excess coolant is forced out of the radiator, past the pressure cap, and into the recovery bottle. As engine coolant temperature decreases, the contracting (cooled) coolant is drawn back up from the tank, past the pressure cap, and into the radiator. Some coolant level drop on new machines is normal, as the system is purging itself of trapped air. Observe coolant levels and maintain as recommended by adding coolant to the recovery bottle. 109

Coolant Level
The recovery bottle is located on the right side of the
vehicle under the front fender. If the fluid level is vis-
ible at the bottom of the side panel, add 6 oz. (175 ml)
of coolant.
As coolant operating temperature increases, the
expanding (heated) excess coolant is forced out of the
radiator, past the pressure cap, and into the recovery
bottle. As engine coolant temperature decreases, the
contracting (cooled) coolant is drawn back up from
the tank, past the pressure cap, and into the radiator.
Some coolant level drop on new machines is normal,
as the system is purging itself of trapped air. Observe
coolant levels and maintain as recommended by add-
ing coolant to the recovery bottle.
