Operation WARNING Failure to operate the ATV properly can result in a collision, loss of control, accident or overturn, which may result in serious injury or death. Read and understand all safety warnings outlined in the safety section of this owner's manual. Break-In Period The break-in period for your new Polaris ATV is the first three hours of operation, or the time it takes to use 5-6 gallons (20 liters) of fuel. No single action on your part is as important as following the procedures for a proper break-in. Careful treatment of a new engine and transmission will result in more efficient performance and longer life for both. Do not allow engine speed to exceed 7000 RPM during the break-in period. Follow the break-in period with an additional 12 hours of cautious operation, with engine speed below 75% of capacity. NOTICE: Failure to perform the recommended break-in maintenance can result in serious engine damage. 58
