Instruments, Features and Controls Right Handlebar Switches Engine Stop/Run Switch The engine stop/run switch is located on the right handlebar. This switch completes or interrupts the ignition, starter and fuel pump circuits. Use the engine stop/run switch to turn the engine off quickly. Turn the key off after the engine stops. • Press the bottom of the switch (RUN) to complete the circuits and allow the engine to start and run. • Press the top of the switch (STOP) to interrupt the circuits and stop the engine. The engine should not start or run when the switch is in the STOP position. Cruise Control Switches (if equipped) Refer to the Cruise Control section of this manual (beginning on page 51) for cruise control operation. Engine Starter Switch The starter switch is located on the right handlebar. Use the starter switch to start the engine and operate in reverse (if equipped). The switch will operate only when the engine stop/run switch is in the RUN position and the transmission is in neutral (or the clutch is disengaged). The reverse lever (if equipped) must also be disengaged. Tip: If the reverse system fuse has blown, the starter switch will not function even if the reverse lever is disengaged. Replace the fuse. See page 88. Cruise Control Switches Run Stop Read the engine starting procedures before starting the engine. See page 48. • Press the right side of the starter switch to engage the starter motor. • See page 54 for reverse operation. Starter Switch 30
