Chapter 6 Hardware removal and installation This chapter contains step-by-step procedures on how to disassemble the server system for maintenance and troubleshooting. To disassemble the server, please pay attention to each section's instruction and tools needed. NOTE: The screws for the different components vary in size. During the disassembly process, group the screws with the corresponding components to avoid mismatch when putting back the components. Power supply removal and installation Removing a Power Supply First, make sure the power supply has been shut down. You can remove power from a power unit via your system management software. 1. Remove the power cord from the power supply unit. 2. Release the locking clip to unlock the power supply module. Chapter 6 31
