14 Connecting options 1 Getting started Printer To connect a printer, plug the printer cable into the parallel port located on the rear panel of your computer. USB devices Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a new serial bus design that is capable of cascading low-/medium-speed peripherals (less than 12 Mbps) such as a keyboard, mouse, joystick, scanner, printer and modem. With USB, complex cable connections can be eliminated. Your computer comes with two USB ports. These ports allow you to connect additional serial devices to your computer without using up its system resources.
