English 32 Microphone features The stereo microphones in your Aspire PC can perform several special functions to provide you with the best quality sound possible. You can access these functions from the taskbar. To access the microphones functions: Double click the HD Audio Manager icon located on the taskbar. Then select the Microphone tab on the main menu. Acoustic echo cancellation Acoustic echo cancellation technology is used to improve performance of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications . A common problem with such applications is an echo caused when the microphone picks up sound output from the speakers. Enabling echo cancellation prevents speaker output from being picked up by the microphone, reducing echo. Click Acoustic Echo Cancellation to enable this feature. Noise suppression Noise suppression can be enabled to reduce background noise, such as the sound generated by your PC's cooling fan, which interferes with the sound quality of your notebook. Click Noise Suppression to enable this feature. Beam forming Beam forming is a form of directional recording. Once enabled, beam forming only records the sound from a certain direction. The best quality can be obtained at an angle of exactly 90', or directly in front of the microphone. Click Beam Forming to enable this feature.
