To start the Adaptec Storage Manager agent only, follow the instructions for your operating system: ● For Windows, see below. ● For Linux, see page 34. ● For NetWare, see page 34. Starting the Agent on Windows On systems running Windows, the Adaptec Storage Manager agent starts automatically when the system is powered on. To verify that the agent is running: 1 Open the Windows Control Panel. 2 Double-click Administrative Tools, then double-click Services. 3 In the list of services, check that the Adaptec Storage Manager agent is installed and running. If it's not, you can choose to restart it. 4 Manage and monitor the system by logging into it as a remote system (see page 61). The Adaptec Storage Manager agent's default settings are suitable for most storage spaces. To customize the settings for your specific requirements, see page 67.
