For your safety and that of your equipment, follow these rules for handling and cleaning your MacBook Pro and for working more comfortably. Keep these instructions handy for reference by you and others. Important Safety Information WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, or other injury or damage. Avoiding water and wet locations Keep your MacBook Pro away from sources of liquid, such as drinks, washbasins, bathtubs, shower stalls, and so on. Protect your MacBook Pro from dampness or wet weather, such as rain, snow, and fog. Handling your MacBook Pro Set up your MacBook Pro on a stable work surface that allows for adequate air circulation under and around the computer. Do not operate your MacBook Pro on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the airflow vents. Never place anything over the keyboard when operating your MacBook Pro. Never push objects into the ventilation openings. The bottom of your MacBook Pro may become very warm during normal use. If your MacBook Pro is on your lap and gets uncomfortably warm, remove it from your lap and place it on a stable work surface. 62 Chapter 5 Last, but Not Least
