2 Knowing the Parts 8 SPEED Express Gate/ Twin Turbo Mode Key Pressing this button will launch Express Gate when the Notebook PC is powered off. Refer to the Express Gate User's Manual for details. Pressing this button switches the Notebook PC to the Twin Turbo mode and boosts up the system performance when the Notebook PC is powered on. Press it again to switch back to the normal modes. When the power adapter is not connected to the Notebook PC, the Twin Turbo mode functions only as High Performance mode though the onscreen display (OSD) shows Twin Turbo Mode. 9 Status Indicators (top) Status indicators represent various hardware/software conditions. See indicator details in section 3. 10 Illuminate Keyboard (on selected models) The illuminate keyboard provides full-sized keys with comfortable travel (depth at which the keys can be depressed) and palm rest for both hands. Two Windows function keys are provided to help ease navigation in the Windows operating system. The keyboard automatically adjusts the brightness when the light sensor is turned on. Or, you can use functions keys to manually increase and decrease the keyboard lightness. 11 Touchpad and Buttons The touchpad with its buttons is a pointing device that provides the same functions as a desktop mouse. A software-controlled scrolling function is available after setting up the included touchpad utility to allow easy Windows or web navigation. 12 Fingerprint Scanner (on selected models) The built-in fingerprint scanner allows use of security software using your fingerprint as your identification key. 13 Status Indicators (front) Status indicators represent various hardware/software conditions. Illuminate Keyboard (on selected models)
