Sharing an Internet Connection Hardware Internet sharing Sharing of a single broadband Internet connection using a Gateway is the most efficient and highest-performance way of sharing a DSL or cable Internet connection. In addition, most Gateways provide a basic level of security for your network, and include a built-in switch to add more ports to your network.
