LA How you get so much from something so small The system consists of an Acoustimass bass module, which you can place out of sight, and three cube speakers. These cube speakers reproduce the left. right, and center channel sound directed to them by a receiver with the Steering logic required for surround sound. Receivers with steering logic direct sound to speakers around the room. Locating the source of sounds on screen and beyond makes the video stage seem more lifelike. For instance, the center speaker, connected to a receiver's active center channel, gives a sense that dialogue is coming right from the screen, just as in a movie theater. To achieve a full surround sound effect, you may also connect rear speakers to your receiver (see Figure 1). They will expand your soundstage even more, and can add to the impact of movie special effects.
