Problem The speaker system Cause Connections Solutions Make sure you made all connections. (See • does not play. "Connecting the Acoustimass multimedia speaker system" on page 6.) Make sure no speaker wires are touching each other, causing a short circuit. Sound source Make sure you plugged in the sound source and it is playing. Make sure the volume on the sound source is loud enough. Power supply Make sure the power switch is in the ON (I) position. Monophonic sound source Check your sound source. If it is in mono (one channeD you need to use a mono-tostereo adapter plug to connect it to your bass module. The speaker system sounds distorted. Volume Decrease the volume at the sound source and increase the volume on the bass module. A cube speaker doesn't Connections Check the connections between the cube play or sounds distorted. speakers and the bass module. Insert the audio connectors completely into the jacks • on the bass module. Cube speaker Disconnect the cords from both speakers. Then switch them, connecting the right speaker cord to the left speaker and the left speaker cord to the right speaker. Now turn on the sound source and speaker system. Bass module If the previously "broken" speaker now works properly, and the other speaker doesn't, the problem is in the sound source or bass module. Disconnect the audio-input cable from your bass module. Then switch the plugs, connecting the right (red) connector to the left INPUT jack and the left (white) connector to the right INPUT jack. Now turn on the sound source and speaker system. If the previously "broken" speaker now works properly, and the other speaker doesn't, the problem is in the sound source. • 10
