SETTING FOR DOUBLE CHAIN STITCH SEWING 1. Retracting the upper looper for chain stitch sewing E I iuI I I Operate (Up) r It, 14/. Release (Down) a To lock down the upper looper 1) Turn the handwheel by hand in the direction of the arrow to lower the upper looper to its lowest position. 2) Next, move the chain stitch lever (upper looper release knob) in the direction of the arrow until it stops securely in the "Release" position (approx. 90°). 3) The upper looper will be automatically lowered and will not move up and down. IMPORTANT! After the upper looper has been locked and before starting to sew, turn the handwheel by hand one full revo- lution or more toward you (1) to confirm that the upper looper has been locked and does not operate. 4 zi;.t4,.. Always be sure to operate the upper looper after double chain stitch sewing has been completed. At this time, turn the handwheel by hand one full revolution or more in the direction of the arrow 0 to confirm that the upper looper can now operate.
