MENU Cleaning the CMOS Sensor 5 •Clean the CMOS sensor. Use a rubber blower to carefully blow away any dust, etc., adhering to the CMOS sensor. 6 •After cleaning the CMOS sensor. Set the < > switch to < >. s The camera will turn off and the shutter will close. The reflex mirror will also go down. • Set the < > switch to < >. You can start taking pictures again. Maintenance • Be sure not to turn off the camera while cleaning the CMOS sensor. If the power 9 is turned off, the shutter will close and you might damage the shutter curtain with the blower. Do not use a blower brush. The brush can scratch the CMOS sensor. •• Do not insert the blower tip inside the camera beyond the lens mount. If the power goes out, the shutter curtain will close and the blower tip may damage it. • Do not use a high-pressure blower or compressed, canned air. The air's extra pressure may damage the CMOS sensor or the gas in the can may freeze the CMOS sensor surface. 151
