Troubleshooting If any trouble occurs during use of the battery, determine its cause and take an appropriate remedial action as explained below. Battery is Connected but Printer Does Not Operate An attempt is made to print data after connecting the battery to the printer, but the printer does not operate. • Is the battery connected securely? Check that the battery is securely connected to the printer. • Is the charge level of the battery pack OK? Check the charge lamp on the battery attachment. If the charge lamp flashes green quickly, the charge level of the battery pack is low. Charge the battery pack. For the charge lamp indication, see below. Charge Lamp is Lit or Flashing Charge lamp Charge level/Action Fully charged. The lamp stays green. Charge remaining. The lamp flashes green slowly. The lamp flashes green quickly. Charging is required. See "Charging the Battery" (The printer status monitor displays a message prompting you to charge the battery.) 8 Charge lamp Charge level/Action The lamp flashes red and green alternately. The battery pack may be faulty. Turn off the printer, and disconnect the AC adapter and the battery from the printer. After that reconnect them and turn on the printer. If the same error occurs, contact your Canon service representative. The charge lamp flashes only when the AC adapter is connected to the printer. For details on the printer status monitor, refer to the manual of the printer. Note The battery condition is indicated when the battery is used under the following situations: • The battery is connected to the printer. • The printer is operating from the battery. Be sure to turn off the printer before connecting or disconnecting the AC adapter. The battery charge level indication may become incorrect if you connect or disconnect the AC adapter with the printer on.
