Preface Thank you for purchasing the LK-62/LK-61/LK-60 or iP100 with battery*. The kit allows you to use the Canon Printer in locations where a power outlet is unavailable. Before using the kit, please read this guide thoroughly. * iP100 with battery includes the printer, battery pack and battery attachment. iP100 with battery may not be available in some countries or regions. Safety Precautions To use the battery pack and the battery attachment safely, follow the directions below. Warning z Do not use the battery pack or battery attachment for other printers. A fire or failure could occur. z Do not connect any AC adapter other than the AC adapter supplied with the printer. A fire or failure could occur. z Do not charge the battery pack by any other means. Be sure to use the battery attachment that comes with the battery pack. z Never immerse the battery pack or battery attachment in water. z Never heat the battery pack or battery attachment, or throw them into fire. Never use or leave them in locations close to heat or flame. They could explode. z Never put the battery pack or battery attachment in a microwave oven or high-pressure container. They could explode. z Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. z If liquid leaked from the battery pack gets into your eyes, do not rub your eyes. Wash the liquid away with clean water such as tap water. Consult the doctor immediately. If you do not do so, your eyes can be damaged permanently. z If liquid leaks from the battery pack or an unusual smell is generated from the battery pack, do not use it again. z If an unusual smell, heating, discoloration, or deformation is detected during use or storage, unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet. Remove the battery from the printer and do not use it again. Caution z Do not disassemble, drop or modify the battery pack or battery attachment. z Keep metallic objects, such as a necklace or hairpins, away from the electrodes of the battery pack. A short circuit could occur. Directions for Use z The battery pack is not charged when it is purchased. Please charge it before use. z The operating temperature range of the battery pack is from 5°C to 35°C/ 41°F to 95°F (condensation should not occur with a sudden change in the temperature). If the battery pack is used outside this range, the following problems could occur: - The battery pack cannot be charged. - The time required to charge the battery pack fully becomes longer. - The number of pages printed per charge is much reduced. - The printer cannot be used. If one of the above problems occurs, move the battery pack to the place where the ambient temperature is normal. z During use, the battery may become warm. This is not a problem. z The battery pack is a consumable product. If the fully charged battery pack becomes exhausted quickly, please purchase a new kit. Directions for Storage z If the battery pack is not used for a long period of time (6 months or longer), remove the battery from the printer and store them separately. z Store the battery pack in a cool, well-ventilated place. Storing the battery pack in the following places may reduce its life or cause a failure: - In a place exposed to direct sunlight - In a place exposed to heat, for example, near a heater - In a hot place, for example, in a car - In a dusty or damp place Directions for Disposal Dispose of used batteries according to the local regulations. 3
