Printing starts, but stops before it is finished Does the document involve a large amount of data, such as photos and illustrations? Has the printer been printing for an extended period of time? When printing documents that involve a large amount of data, it may take several moments before printing starts. If the BUSY light is green, print data is being sent to the printer. Wait for printing to start. If you print for extended periods of time, the BJ cartridge overheats and the RESUME/CLEAN light flashes. If this happens, stop printing and wait until the BJ cartridge has cooled. When the BJ cartridge is cool, the light stops flashing. The printer is printing garbage Troubleshooting Was the previous printing job cancelled while it was still printing? Is the printer properly connected to the Internet device? Is the data printout correct? Chapter 5 Troubleshooting Data from the previously printed job may be left in the printer's memory. Turn off the power to the printer and the Internet device, then turn the power on again. Firmly connect the power cord and the printer cable. If unreadable characters are printed only when printing certain data, there may be a problem with the data or the application software. Re-create the data and print again. If the problem persists, call the Canon Customer Care Center (see page 1-13). 5-7
