Still Images Shooting with the FE Lock Just as with the AE lock (=71), you can lock the exposure for the flash shots. 1 Raise the flash and set it to [h] (= 87). 2 Lock the flash exposure. zzAim the camera at the subject to shoot with the exposure locked. With the shutter button pressed halfway, press the button. zzThe flash fires, and when [ ] is displayed, the flash output level is retained. zzTo unlock FE, release the shutter button and press the button again. In this case, [ ] is no longer displayed. 3 Compose the shot and shoot. zzAfter one shot, FE is unlocked and [ ] is no longer displayed. • FE Lock cannot be used with Touch Shutter (=39) or Touch AF (=86), because touching the screen will cancel FE Lock. • FE: Flash Exposure Changing the Flash Timing Still Images Change the timing of the flash and shutter release as follows. 1st-curtain 2nd-curtain 1 Access the setting screen. zzPress the button, choose [Flash Settings] on the [4] tab, and then press the button (=25). 2 Configure the setting. zzChoose [Shutter Sync.], and then choose the desired option (=26). The flash fires immediately after the shutter opens. The flash fires immediately before the shutter closes.
