Shooting Range and Focusing Still Images Movies Center One AF frame is displayed in the center. Effective for reliable focusing. • A yellow AF frame is displayed with if the camera cannot focus when you press the shutter button halfway. Note that AF-point zooming (p. 85) is not possible. • To reduce the AF frame size, press the n button and set [AF Frame Size] on the 4 tab to [Small] (p. 40). • The AF frame size is set to [Normal] when you use the digital zoom (p. 63) or digital tele-converter (p. 127), and in manual focus mode (p. 125). • If [Face ID] is set to [On], names will not display when registered people are detected, but the names will be recorded in the still images (p. 148). Still Images Recomposing Shots While the Focus is Locked As long as you keep the shutter button pressed halfway, the focus and exposure are locked. You can recompose shots as needed before shooting. This feature is called Focus Lock. Focus. z Aim the camera so that the subject is centered, and then press the shutter button halfway. z Confirm that the AF frame displayed around the subject is green. Keeping the shutter button pressed halfway,
move the camera to recompose the shot.

Press the shutter button all the way down.
Center
