WARNING! Read and follow all safety rules and instructions in this manual, including the entire Operation section, before attempting to operate this machine. Failure to comply with all safety rules and instructions may result in personal injury. Throttle Control The throttle control is located on the console to the left of the operator's seat. When set in a given position, a uniform engine speed will be maintained. Push the throttle control handle forward to increase the engine speed. The tractor is designed to operate with the throttle control in the fast position (full throttle) when the tractor is being driven and the mower deck is engaged. Pull the throttle control handle rearward to decrease the engine speed. Choke Control The choke knob controls the position of the engine choke. Pull the knob out to choke the engine; push the knob in to open the choke. Throttle/Choke Control* On some units, the throttle and choke is constolled by the same lever. In this instance, the unit will NOT have a choke knob, rather the choke is controlled by the throttle lever. The throttle/ FA ST choke control is located on the left side of the tractor's dash panel. This lever controls the speed of the engine and, when pushed all the way forward, closes the choke for cold starting. When set in a given position, the throttle will maintain a uniform engine speed. SL OW NOTE: When operating the tractor with the cutting deck engaged, be certain that the throttle/choke control is always in the FAST (rabbit) position. 12
