DHCPv6 Relay Commands 19-1 ipv6 dhcp relay destination This command is used to enable the DHCP for IPv6 relay service on the interface and specify a destination address to which client messages are forwarded to. Use the no form of this command to remove a relay destination. ipv6 dhcp relay destination IPV6-ADDRESS [INTERFACE-ID] no ipv6 dhcp relay destination IPV6-ADDRESS [INTERFACE-ID] Parameters IPV6-ADDRESS INTERFACE-ID Specifies the DHCPv6 relay destination address. (Optional) Specifies the output interface for the relay destination. Default By default, this option is disabled. Command Mode Interface Configuration Mode. Usage Guideline Use this command to configure or remove the relay destination address on an interface. If all relay addresses are removed, the relay function is disabled. The incoming DHCPv6 messages, being relayed can come from a client, may be already relayed by a relay agent. The destination address to be relayed can be a DHCPv6 server or another DHCPv6 relay agent, The destination address can be a unicast or a multicast address, both can be a link scoped address or a global scoped address. For link scoped addresses, the interface where the destination address is located must be specified. For global scoped addresses, the user can optional specify the output interface. If the output interface is not specified, the output interface is resolved via the routing table. Multiple relay destination addresses can be specified for an interface. When the DHCPv6 message is relayed to the multicast address, the hop limit field in the IPv6 packet header will be set to 32. Example This example shows how to configure the relay destination address on VLAN 1 and VLAN 2.
