This allows the user to set the number of seconds that the Switch remains in the quiet state following a failed authentication exchange with the client. The default setting is 60 seconds. This value determines timeout conditions in the exchanges between the Authenticator and the client. The default setting is 30 seconds. It is defined in SuppTimeout, IEEE802.1X-2001, page 47. The initialization value is used for the awhile timer when timing out the Supplicant. Its default value is 30 seconds; however, if the type of challenge involved in the current exchange demands a different value of timeout (for example, if the challenge requires an action on the part of the user), then the timeout value is adjusted accordingly. It can be set by management to any value in the range from 1 to 65535 seconds. This value determines timeout conditions in the exchanges between the Authenticator and the authentication server. The default setting is 30 seconds. The maximum number of times that the Switch will retransmit an EAP Request to the client before it times out of the authentication sessions.
