NOTICE: To prevent static damage to components inside your computer, discharge static electricity from your body before you touch any of your computer's electronic components. You can do so by touching an unpainted metal surface on the computer chassis. 1 Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 53. 2 Lay the computer on its side so that the system board is on the bottom of the inside of the computer. 3 Remove the computer cover (page 59). 4 Remove the drive panel (see page 76). *Media Card Reader cable *Not present on all computers. 5 Disconnect the USB cable on the back of the Media Card Reader to the front panel USB connector on the system board (see page 61) and route the cable through the clip on the shroud. 90 Removing and Installing Parts

Removing a Media Card Reader

NOTICE:

Lay the computer on its side so that the system board is on the bottom of the inside of the
computer.

Remove the computer cover (page 59).

Remove the drive panel (see page 76).

Disconnect the USB cable on the back of the Media Card Reader to the front panel USB
connector on the system board (see page 61) and route the cable through the clip on the
shroud.
