Introduction Dell™ PowerConnect™ 22xx/23xx switches provide 10/100Base-T or 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit plug-and-play Fast Ethernet connectivity. The switches have the following features: • Product specifications - PowerConnect 2216 • Provides 16 ports supporting 10/100Base-T Ethernet. • All ports support full- or half-duplex mode and PAUSE frames. - PowerConnect 2224 • Provides 24 ports supporting 10/100Base-T Ethernet. • All ports support full- or half-duplex mode and PAUSE frames. - PowerConnect 2324 • Provides 24 ports supporting 10/100Base-T Ethernet and an additional 2 ports supporting 1000Base-T Ethernet. • The 10/100Base-T ports support full- or half-duplex mode; the 1000Base-T ports support full-duplex mode only. • The 10/100Base-T ports support PAUSE frames; the 1000Base-T ports do not support PAUSE frames. • Complies with IEEE 802.3 10Base-T, IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX, IEEE 802.3z/ab 1000Base-T • Tag-based IEEE 802.1p Class-of-Service with two priority queues per port • The 10/100Base-T ports support IEEE 802.3x PAUSE frames flow control in full-duplex operation • Automatic negotiation for speed and full- and half-duplex mode on all ports NOTE: 1000Base-T ports operate in full-duplex mode only. • Backpressure flow control in half-duplex operation • Collision detection on all ports • Auto MDI/MDIX • 8K MAC address entries supported Introduction 5
