5 Configuring terminal display Configuring terminal display You can configure and display the number of lines displayed on a terminal screen during the current CLI session. The terminal length command allows you to determine how many lines will be displayed on the screen during the current CLI session. This command is useful when reading multiple lines of displayed information, especially those that do not fit on one screen. To specify the maximum number of lines displayed on one page, enter a command such as the following. BigIron RX(config)# terminal length 15 Syntax: terminal length The parameter indicates the maximum number of lines that will be displayed on a full screen of text during the current session. If the displayed information requires more than one page, the terminal pauses. Pressing the space bar displays the next page. The default for is 24. Entering a value of 0 prevents the terminal from pausing between multiple output pages. Checking the length of terminal displays The show terminal command specifies the number of lines that will be displayed on the screen as specified by the terminal length, page display, and skip-page-display commands. It also shows if the enable skip-page-display command has been configured. The enable skip-page-display command allows you to use the skip-page-display to disable the configured page-display settings. BigIron RX(config)# show terminal Length: 24 lines Page display mode (session): enabled Page display mode (global): enabled Syntax: show terminal Enabling or disabling routing protocols The BigIron RX supports the following protocols: • BGP4 • DVMRP • FSRP • IP • OSPF • PIM • RIP • VRRP • VRRPE By default, IP routing is enabled on the device.
