You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Troubleshooting Storage Array Startup Failure NOTE: If you need to replace a RAID controller, always hot plug the replacement controller when the array is powered on. All new hard drives should be hot plugged to the array. Do not use drives or RAID controller from another (foreign) array. If your system halts during startup, check if: • The array emits a series of beeps. • The array fault LEDs are lit. • There is a constant scraping or grinding sound when you access the physical disk. Troubleshooting External Connections • Verify that the cables are connected to the correct ports before troubleshooting any external devices.
