Setting Up Your Studio Hybrid Connect the Display Your computer uses one of two different connectors for the display. The HDMI connector is a high performance digital connector that carries both video and audio signals for displays such as TVs and monitors with integrated speakers. The DVI connector is also a high performance digital connector, but it does not carry an audio signal. This connector can be used for displays such as monitors and projectors that do not have speakers. Check your TV or monitor to see which type of connectors are available. Refer to the following table when identifying the connectors on your display to select the connection type you will use. DVI HDMI VGA DVI Connect the display using ONLY ONE of the following connectors: the white DVI connector or the HDMI connector. NOTE: The HDMI will not have a display signal if both a DVI and an HDMI cables are connected because the DVI connector has priority over the HDMI connector. 8
